NECK LIFT

take years off your neck

If you wish there was a way to lift years from your neck, you may be interested in neck lift surgery (also known as a lower facelift).

Over the years, gravity has been especially unforgiving to the neck area. Loose, drooping skin can make you look and feel older than your actual age. While aging is inevitable, the degree it shows varies depending on your genetics, overall health, environmental factors, smoking history, weight gain and loss, lifestyle, and skin type. Getting neck lift surgery in Charlotte can help improve this issue.

Neck Lift Surgery – Charlotte Plastic SurgeryNeck lift surgery may be used to cosmetically correct four of the visible signs of aging, according to the Academy of Plastic Surgery.

  • Tighten loose skin resulting from decreased skin elasticity
  • Diminish double chin and fatty deposits
  • Reduce jowls
  • Reduce or eliminate banding around the neck known as the “platysmal bands”

The surgeons at Charlotte Plastic Surgery can help you turn back time with a neck lift. During the procedure, your surgeon will remove excess skin and fat, repair muscles, and reposition the skin. As a result, neck lift patients can improve the contour and profile of the entire neck area. Often the neck is one of the first places to show signs of aging, so someone may want a neck or lower facelift before they would even consider a full facelift.

Every individual has their own needs and preferences. During a consultation, our surgeons will ask about your goals, help you explore your options, and determine whether plastic surgery is for you now.

Your Next Step to a Younger Looking Neck

The first step to getting neck lift surgery or any other plastic surgery is to schedule a consultation with a plastic surgeon. During this appointment, we encourage you to share your hopes, goals, and concerns. Inform your doctor about your overall health, medical history, current health conditions and medications, and lifestyle.

Your plastic surgeon will help you explore your options. Sometimes a patient requests a consultation for one specific procedure when another may be a better fit for their needs and goals. Your plastic surgeon will show before and after photographs and may use other imaging techniques to help you understand the possible results.

As with any elective procedure, the best candidates for neck lifts are non-smokers in good general health. Your plastic surgeon will consider other factors specific to your medical history, age and skin condition.

LENGTH: 1-4 hours.

ANESTHESIA: General.

IN/OUTPATIENT: Outpatient.

RISKS: Some risks associated with a neck lift in Charlotte include possible infections, bleeding, poor scarring, nerve injury, and the possible need for further surgery.

RECOVERY: The procedure usually requires a two-week social downtime, which is usually not very painful. There may be some bruising and tenderness, and you may need to modify your routine to avoid lifting heavy objects and other activities that might interfere with healing.

DURATION OF RESULTS: The results are long-lasting and excellent in that your result will always remain compared to your peer group. Of course, the procedure doesn’t stop the clock, so aging will naturally continue.
