Tummy Tuck Recovery with ExparelTummy tuck surgery can provide patients with lasting improvements to the midsection by removing excess skin and reducing the belly bulge caused by weakened abdominal muscles. However, keep in mind that to achieve optimal results, you’ll need to avoid positions that place a strain on the treated area during your recovery. In addition to using a no-drain tummy tuck technique most plastic surgeons offer Exparel for continuing pain control. This non-narcotic, non-opioid pain reliever is injected directly into the abdominal tissue, fascia, and muscles and acts as a nerve block. Exparel contains a medication called bupivacaine, which is released slowly into the surgical site and can help manage pain for up to 72 hours post-op, making recovery more comfortable. Often oral pain medication can cause nausea, constipation, drowsiness, and other side effects. Many patients who opt for Exparel report less need for narcotic pain medication. This reduction can lead to reduced side effects. Additionally, Exparel can save you money. Purchasing additional prescription pain medications can be expensive and add hundreds of dollars to your procedure. Charlotte Plastic Surgery is nationally-recognized and offers expertise in many different services and procedures.

More specifically he discusses on how it damages the skin and what people can do to prevent this from happening. Evolving research has shown that blue light can be bad for skin. It’s certain that blue light in the 380–400 nm range is problematic, although the risk seems to lessen somewhat toward the top end at 500 nm. Long-term blue light exposure to concentrated sources of blue light energy can cause skin damage, including color changes, inflammation, and weakening of the skin’s surface. Simply put, blue light promotes stressors in skin that cause photo-aging; that is, aging from exposure to light.

Breast Implants; What are Your Options?Charlotte Plastic Surgery's Dr. Jack F. Scheuer III speaks on breast augmentation, better known as breast implant, options and which ones may be the best depending on someone's physique and what they are looking to accomplish. There are a few deciding factors that need to go into breast augmentation before making the final decision to have this type of surgical procedure done. The first of these is size. Breast implant size is one of the most important characteristics that determine the end result of a breast augmentation procedure. Breast implant size is measured in ccs, typically from 200cc to 600cc. Implant size choices usually come down to a combination of the patient's anatomy and the degree of naturalness of the desired final result. Another factor to consider is the type of surgical incision that the surgeon will make when the operation is underway. This is a decision that your surgeon can help you with and should be consulted on before undergoing surgery.

With each procedure having their own benefits and drawbacks, Dr. Nyame discusses what and why you should consider liposuction as opposed to CoolSculpting or vice versa. When considering a procedure such as liposuction, Dr. Nyame suggests that a patient who is already at their ideal weight and not looking to lose more weight are perfect candidates for liposuction. Liposuction is also best for those looking to have a procedure done on a very specific and targeted area of the body that's bothering them. For extensive fat removal and the ease of only one procedure, liposuction is the best option. If a non-invasive procedure is more appealing, CoolSculpting would be the better option.
